Registration Frustration
Registration time can often be very confusing and frustrating. Although if you are fully prepared and informed, registration can become more exciting and less frustrating! So, check out this page to find general information about registration, links to helpful places and also some tricks of the trade when it comes to registrating for classes. ***Tips all students, regardless of your major, should follow proir to registration:
- Go see your advisor! Many departments require you to see your advisor in order to get a hold taken off. Regardless, that is what the advisors are there for. Take an extra 5 minutes to call your advising office and set up an appointment. If you don't know where to go, or who your advisor is click here.
- Don't wait until the last minute to start thinking about the upcoming semester! If you are registering for the spring semester, call your advisor in October, and if you are registering for the fall semseter, call your advisor in March!
- Get a list of all the classes you must take to graduate,either online or from an advisor, and try to fit your schedule together by going to Techsis and looking at the open course section link. If you can not log on to Techsis, it is most likely because you have not set up a pin number. If you don't know how to do that, click here.
- Be informed on what you are getting into. For example, if you have a choice of an elective to take, make sure it is something you want to take. Look at the course description.
- Know and get familiar with your course catalogue, it can help you out tremendously!
- Know what kind of class your registering for. Some classes can be taken pass/fail (which sometimes might be helpful and others can be taken as a grade replacement.
When is registration for this coming spring? You better hurry and click here, because you might already be able to register. Don't waste any precious time when registering, because it might cost you an extra semester in college!

As you can see by clicking here, the Graduate students get to register first. Then it is the seniors, juniors and so on. The earlier you register, the more likely you will get the classes you need, so just hang in there and look forward to becoming a senior.
Tricks of the Trade and Myths!
As everyone knows, computers have glitches. This can be bad, but when registering, it can be very good. If you are able to register Nov. 10, Techsis is designed to let you register starting 8 a.m. on the morning of Nov. 10. Although the glitch on Techsis will sometimes let you register if you log in right at midnight or right at 4 a.m. This has worked for some, and others think this is just a myth, but what do you have to lose?
